About the Director:

Deborah Westphal, CPM®, ARM®, is the Executive and School Director for the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) for the GA Chapter. Westphal brings to IREM expansive knowledge and background of the real estate industry from personal experience of more than twenty years.

Deborah has been a member since 1996 and served on the IREM GA Executive Council as the VP of Finance, Communications, Membership and Education.  She also believes in volunteering at the national level and continues serving on commitees.

She has received numerous honors: from IREM, including the 2009 Presidential Award, Certified Property Manager® (CPM®) of the year for 2007, Accredited Resident Manager (ARM®) of the Year for 2006, membership team awards with the Atlanta Apartment Association.

Working with Lane Company fourteen years, a Pillars of the Industry finalist for Regional Manager of the Year, she was also a REO Portfolio Regional, her portfolio was awarded the Annual Highest Effective Rent Growth when the company had over 30K units, and maintained the highest KPI's each month company wide.  Her teams had the lowest turnover and the highest performance evaluations.

From a Leasing agent to a Vice President, Westphal's philosophies remained the same:  Provide Exceptional Service, Know the goals and create the environments for everyone to be successful in.  Hire high potential individuals, focusing on their strengths and training for improvement as needed.  Do not take things personally or too seriously as long as you are doing the absolute best you can do.

Westphal has a refreshing personality that combines the serious nature of her profession with the joy of helping others and favorably impacting the bottom line. Deborah is a professional trainer, motivational speaker, and an operational efficiency analyst.
