IREM® Georgia – “The Dorothy Long Scholarship”

Advancing Careers in Real Estate Management


IREM® Georgia’s “Dorothy Long Scholarship” provides partial tuition in either the classroom or on-demand delivery formats.  Recipient may reapply for additional scholarships, if needed, upon full use or expiration of any scholarship awarded. 




To qualify for an IREM® Georgia Dorothy Long Scholarship, an applicant must meet one of the following requirements:


  1. Be a current IREM® Student Member and express an intent of earning an IREM® credential (ARM®, ACoM, or CPM®). 
  2. Be a working professional with five years or less of professional experience.





Scholarship applications may be submitted by March 31st and will be reviewed by the IREM Georgia Chapter Executive Council Officers.


To be considered, a scholarship application must include:


  • A two page written statement by the applicant of their intent to earn an IREM® credential (ARM®, ACoM, or CPM®). The statement should also express an interest in and a commitment to real estate management as a career and list any accomplishments of the applicant that support such commitment.


  • Current resume.


  • Two letters of reference (1). A professional reference (2). An active IREM member.


  • Signature of the local IREM® Chapter President on the application.

The selection of scholarship recipients is based on, but not limited to, these factors:

  • Demonstrated commitment to a career in real estate management.
  • Intent of earning an IREM® credential (ARM®, ACoM, CPM®).
  • Support of IREM® Chapter as endorsed on application.
  • Previous scholarships awarded and activated, including those that may have expired.


The IREM® Georgia Chapter conducts the administration of its scholarship program.  It has complete and final authority to confer or revoke scholarships, and to make other decisions pertaining to the use of funds in the scholarship program. Should the applicant encounter extenuating circumstances that make the applicant unable to complete his/her course, the scholarship committee would determine a possible resolution.





You will receive written notification via email of an awarded scholarship.  Once awarded, you will work with the chapter to enroll in a course with the coordination of the local chapter.  Course registration information will be provided in your scholarship notification.


Please note:  The scholarship will be valid for 12 months from the date of the award and must be submitted to the IREM® Georgia Chapter at least 45 days before the beginning of a course.   


After activating scholarship and completing registrations for the course, you may apply for an additional scholarship as long as you continue to meet the eligibility criteria.
